I was in my 20's when my boss told me I was “too ambitious.”
Too ambitious. For a man who couldn’t remember my name in meetings.
I smiled. Nodded. Said nothing.
Because that’s what Good Girls do, right?
We smile. We shrink. We make it comfortable for everyone else — even if it costs us everything.
And it did. It cost me promotions. Peace. Power. And my damn voice.
That was the day I realized:
The Good Girl Code is a silent contract we never signed … but got punished for breaking.
So, I tore it up. Line by line. Lie by lie.
Because playing small isn’t “humble.” It’s a strategy. A sabotage strategy. And it’s not working.
Not for your career. Not for your leadership. Not for your life.

💡 Truth Bombs I Wish Someone Told Me Earlier
YOU CAN’T LEAD AND PEOPLE-PLEASE AT THE SAME TIME.
One will always silence the other. Guess which one wins when your worth is tied to validation?
BEING “NICE” ISN’T A STRATEGY.
It’s a mask. A muzzle. A slow death to your boldest ideas.
IF YOU’RE THE MOST RELIABLE ONE IN THE ROOM …

You’re probably being used.
High-functioning burnout is not a leadership badge. It’s a warning sign.
YOU DON’T NEED MORE CREDENTIALS.
You need to stop hiding behind them.
Certifications don’t equal confidence. Visibility does. Voice does. Owning your power in a room does.
LEADERSHIP ISN’T EARNED BY BEING PERFECT.
It’s claimed by being visible. Even when your voice shakes. Even when you’re afraid they won’t like you.
Especially then.

Then ACT like it. Today. Not when you get another degree. Not when your boss “notices” you. Not when you finally feel ready.
Because here’s the truth —
Confidence doesn't come first.  Action does.
So, here's your move: Speak first in the next meeting.
Yep. That’s it. No overthinking. No waiting for the perfect words.
Just unmute. Speak. Lead.
Because every time you silence yourself to be polite Or wait your turn You reinforce the lie that your voice doesn’t matter.
But it does. Especially when it shakes. Especially when it’s not perfect.
That’s how we break patterns. That’s how we build power.
Not by waiting. But by doing.
So go first. Be bold. Be too much. Be heard.
Because real leaders? They don’t ask for permission.
They start the damn conversation.

🚫 The Lie of "I'm Not Ready"
Let’s call this what it is:
PERFECTION DISGUISED AS PREPARATION.
That voice in your head whispering “Wait until…” “Get another certification…” “Make it flawless…”
It’s not protecting you. It’s paralyzing you.
You tell yourself you’re just being “thorough.” But what you’re really doing is hiding behind the illusion of someday.
Because if you never start, you never fail. Right?
Wrong.
You’re not “not ready.” You’re just scared of what happens when you are.
Scared of being seen. Scared of being powerful. Scared of being the leader you already are.
But let me say it loud:
READY IS A DECISION. 
Not a destination. Not a degree. Not a feeling.
You lead by doing, not by waiting.
So, the next time that voice shows up? THANK IT for trying to keep you safe. Then tell it to sit down.
Because you’ve got work to do.
The kind that changes rooms. The kind that shifts narratives. The kind that starts BEFORE you feel “ready.”
You’re not here to get ready. You’re here to lead.

Here’s the deal: If it’s not a HELL YES … It’s a HELL NO.
That’s it. That’s the rule.
This powerful little filter has saved me from …
- Overcommitting
- People-pleasing
- Pretending I’m fine when I’m NOT
Good Girls are trained to say “yes” to everything. To be nice. To be agreeable. To be liked.
But leaders? Leaders honor their capacity. Leaders protect their time like their life depends on it. (And honestly? It kind of does.)
So, this week, I want you to run every request, invitation, offer, or ask through this lens:
Do I feel a full-body HELL YES? Or am I shrinking into obligation-mode?
If it’s not aligned, it’s a no. Simple. Liberating. Game-changing.
Write this on a sticky note. Tattoo it on your brain. Or better yet — put it on your lock screen. 👇 This is not just a boundary. It’s a declaration: My time, my energy, and my leadership are sacred.
And I don’t waste them on maybes.
